Parvai Blockprinted Kanchipuram Silk Sari
This saree is a conversation between two of India’s finest textile traditions. Handwoven in Kanchipuram from pure silk and real zari, its crisp white body and bold black borders establish a striking monochrome canvas. The woven fabric then travels to Bagru, where it is hand block printed with the Pankhi, or Turhi Patashi, motif from the historic Fadat design vocabulary.
Revered for its intricate geometry and mesmerising rhythm, the motif creates an illusion of depth while retaining remarkable visual restraint. Executed entirely in black, the print complements rather than competes with the weave, resulting in a textile that is sophisticated, architectural, and timeless, a seamless union of Kanchipuram’s weaving excellence and Bagru’s rich block-printing
