Nazakat - Hand Block Printed Mulberry Silk Sari

Some designs never truly disappear. They simply wait to be rediscovered.

This Nazakat sari draws inspiration from the confident elegance of 1970s and 1980s power dressing, an era when refined prints, impeccable tailoring, and understated sophistication became enduring expressions of style. At its heart is one of the finest small butti hand block prints, a pattern celebrated for its delicate scale, visual rhythm, and timeless versatility.

Over time, many of these cherished designs were adapted for machine printing, where speed replaced the subtle irregularities and quiet character that define true handcrafted work. While efficient, the process gradually distanced the textile from the artistry that once gave it life.

At Parvai, we continue to honour that tradition.

Printed entirely by hand on 80 GSM pure mulberry silk, each motif begins as an original artwork before being meticulously translated into hand-carved wooden blocks. Every layer of colour is printed individually by master artisans whose years of experience allow the pattern to emerge with remarkable precision, depth, and warmth.

The lightweight silk drapes with exceptional fluidity, allowing the intricate butti pattern and richly composed pallu to move gracefully with the wearer. The result is a sari that feels both nostalgic and contemporary, quietly luxurious, remarkably versatile, and unmistakably handcrafted.

For us, true beauty lies not in flawless uniformity, but in the human touch. It is this handcrafted excellence—shaped by patience, experience, and generations of skill—that continues to surpass everything else.
