The borders are thoughtfully composed in two distinct sections. The outer 11 inches feature 870 handwoven neelavattam motifs, each measuring 1.3 cm and meticulously woven using the intricate Adai technique, a remarkable display of patience and technical skill. The inner 3-inch band of delicate 0.5 cm checks creates a subtle geometric frame, finished with the classic 2 cm saw-tooth Korvai join.
