Tie and dye is one of India's oldest and most widely accepted textile printing methods. Each design and motif has its unique significance. The art has been employed by dyers globally, but it flourishes most significantly in India, particularly in the northwestern state of Rajasthan. The history of Bandhani, or tie and dye, stretches back to prehistoric times, with countless dyers creating beautiful patterns by tying fabric and immersing it in dye. Indian Bandhani, a traditional form of tie-dye, originated about 5,000 years ago and became widespread on cotton approximately 3,000 years ago. Known as `Bandhej`, the name derives from the word `Bandhan`, meaning tying up. This ancient art form is mainly found in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat, with notable centres in Jaipur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jamnagar, producing odhnis, sarees, and turbans. Bandhani is closely linked with various communities' social and religious customs and has rich historical roots, primarily initiated by the Muslim Khatri Community of Kutch, with traditions passed down through generations.

Note: As this product is handwoven, slight irregularities may exist. These unique imperfections and variations are intrinsic to the handmade process and should not be considered defects. Product colours may vary due to lighting or monitor settings. We offer free shipping, and upon purchase, the product will be dispatched within 7 to 10 business days. Returns are accepted within two days of delivery. Cancellation requests will be entertained according to our policy.
