Terms of Service

About Parvai: Parvai is an India-based design and production practice specialising in handwoven, handmade and artisanal products. We operate primarily through our online store and through direct relationships with our patrons. Our design studios, production spaces and artisan workspaces are working environments and are not general retail or public-access spaces. By accessing our website, purchasing a product, commissioning work or engaging with our services, you agree to these Terms of Service together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy and other policies published on our website.

Use of Our Online Store: You may use the Parvai website only for lawful purposes. By placing an order, you confirm that the information provided by you, including your name, contact information, billing information and delivery address, is complete and accurate. You must not misuse our website, interfere with its operation or security, introduce malicious software, systematically extract its content, impersonate another person or undertake fraudulent or unlawful transactions. Parvai reserves the right to restrict access or decline transactions where we reasonably believe fraudulent, abusive, unlawful or unauthorised activity has occurred.

Products & Availability: Much of Parvai's work is produced in small quantities, and certain products may be individually produced, commissioned, pre-ordered or made to order. Availability displayed on our website is therefore subject to confirmation. Placing a product in your shopping cart does not reserve it. An order is confirmed only after payment has been successfully received and accepted by Parvai. Where a product becomes unavailable because of an inventory discrepancy, simultaneous purchase or other genuine error, we will contact the client and provide an appropriate resolution. We reserve the right to limit quantities or discontinue products where reasonably necessary.

Handwoven & Handmade Character: Parvai works extensively with handloom, handmade and artisan-produced products. Minor variations in yarn, weave, selvedge, motifs, joins, dyeing, printing, handwork, texture, dimensions or finish can occur naturally through these processes. Such variations are part of the individual character of handmade production and are not ordinarily considered defects. This does not affect a client's rights where a product has a genuine defect, is damaged or materially differs from the specifications under which it was sold.

Product Descriptions & Colour Representation: We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate photographs, descriptions, measurements, material information and specifications. Textiles may appear different depending on lighting, photography and the device on which they are viewed. Screen brightness, resolution, calibration and colour temperature may affect colour representation. If a particular colour, weight, texture, transparency, measurement or construction detail is especially important to your purchase, we encourage you to contact us before ordering and we will provide additional information wherever reasonably possible.

Prices & Taxes: Product prices are those displayed or expressly communicated by Parvai at the time of purchase. Applicable taxes are charged and recorded in accordance with prevailing statutory requirements. Parvai reserves the right to revise prices at any time; however, a subsequent price change will not ordinarily alter the price of an order already confirmed and paid for. Where a genuine pricing, tax, inventory or website error occurs, we reserve the right to correct it and will contact the client where an existing order is materially affected.

Payments, Invoices & Records: Orders are processed only after payment has been successfully received and confirmed. Parvai accepts payments only through authorised payment methods published on our website or officially communicated by us, including bank transfer, UPI and secure online payment facilities. Every completed purchase is formally recorded through our accounting system and a system-generated tax invoice is raised for the transaction. Clients should make payments only through payment details published on our website or communicated through Parvai's official channels.

Shipping & Delivery: India Post is Parvai's standard shipping provider for domestic and international shipments. Complimentary standard domestic shipping and our published international shipping rates are based on India Post services. Where a client specifically requests another courier, the client may arrange collection independently or request Parvai to coordinate it. All additional courier, insurance, handling and related costs will be borne by the client. Dispatch and delivery periods are estimates and may be affected by postal networks, customs, holidays, weather, remote-location accessibility and circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Full details are provided in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

International Orders: International clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping and contact information. Customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees and other charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient unless expressly stated otherwise by Parvai. Customs procedures and international postal networks may affect delivery timelines.

Commissioned, Customised & Made-to-Order Work: Commissioned, recreated, customised, pre-ordered and made-to-order products are undertaken specifically for individual clients. Production may involve design development, sourcing raw materials, pre-loom preparation, weaving, printing, dyeing, handwork, finishing and coordination with individual artisans and production teams. Timelines communicated for such work are good-faith estimates rather than guaranteed completion dates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Handmade production can be affected by raw-material availability, loom schedules, artisan availability and technical or production circumstances. Once production has commenced, commissioned, customised and made-to-order products cannot ordinarily be cancelled, returned or exchanged except where required by applicable law or where a genuine defect or material deviation from expressly agreed specifications exists.

Alterations, Stitching & Finishing: Where Parvai undertakes blouse stitching, fall and pico, tasselling, blouse-piece detachment, tailoring, finishing or other alterations at a client's request, the client is responsible for providing accurate measurements and instructions. Once such work has commenced, the product may no longer be eligible for cancellation, return or exchange except where there is a genuine defect attributable to Parvai or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Returns, Exchanges & Refunds: Returns, exchanges and refunds are governed by our Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy. Where a monetary refund is approved, Parvai can issue it only to an eligible Indian bank account irrespective of the original country, currency or method of payment. Where an Indian bank account is unavailable, or where the client prefers, the approved refundable amount may be issued as Parvai store credit. Applicable non-refundable shipping, customs, transaction, service or third-party charges may be deducted in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude any statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual Property: Unless otherwise stated, the Parvai name, branding, website content, original photography, written material, product descriptions, graphics, original design development, drawings, documentation and other original material created by or for Parvai remain protected intellectual property and may not be copied, reproduced, commercially exploited, republished or presented as another person's or organisation's work without appropriate permission.

Textile Traditions, References & Design Language: Parvai works within living textile and craft traditions developed collectively across generations. Traditional motifs, weaving structures, regional techniques, historical textile references and established craft vocabularies may form part of wider cultural and artistic heritage and are not represented by Parvai as our exclusive intellectual property merely because they appear in our work. Where Parvai develops original artwork, arrangements, documentation, adaptations or other protectable creative work around these traditions, rights in that original contribution remain with Parvai or the relevant creator. Purchasing or commissioning a Parvai product does not transfer ownership of our underlying drawings, design documentation, technical development or intellectual property unless expressly agreed in writing.

Client-Supplied References: Where a client provides photographs, textile references, artworks, motifs, designs or other material for a commission, the client is responsible for ensuring that they are entitled to provide and request the use of such material. Parvai reserves the right to decline work where we believe a request would improperly reproduce the protected work of another contemporary designer, artist or rights-holder.

Website & Educational Content: Information concerning textiles, techniques, craft histories, makers, materials and processes is provided with considerable care. Craft knowledge is living, regional and may be subject to differing terminology and interpretations. Such information is intended to provide context and education and should not be regarded as professional, legal, academic or conservation advice. We reserve the right to correct or update information where an error is identified or further information becomes available.

Third-Party Services: Our website and operations may rely on third-party services including Shopify, payment processors, banks, India Post and other technology or logistics providers. These independent services may operate according to their own terms and privacy practices. Parvai cannot be responsible for independent third-party systems or services beyond matters reasonably within our control, subject to applicable law.

Privacy & Personal Information: Personal information provided to Parvai is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Information necessary for orders, payments, tax invoices, delivery, commissioned work, accounting and customer support may be retained for legitimate business and statutory purposes. Purchasing from Parvai does not automatically grant us permission to publish a patron's personal photographs, identity, private correspondence or personal information. Where identifiable client material or personal stories are to be publicly featured, appropriate permission will be sought.

Commercial Use & Resale: Unless expressly agreed with Parvai, products purchased through our retail channels are intended for personal use and not for unauthorised commercial resale. We reserve the right to decline, limit or cancel orders that reasonably appear to have been placed for unauthorised resale, commercial replication or other purposes inconsistent with the terms under which our products are offered.

Limitation of Liability: To the extent permitted by applicable law, Parvai will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability or statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Genuine defects, damaged or incorrectly supplied products and products materially differing from their stated specifications will be addressed in accordance with applicable law and our published policies.

Circumstances Beyond Our Control: Parvai will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including natural events, severe weather, strikes, transport or postal disruption, government restrictions, customs delays, widespread technical failures, interruptions to raw-material supply or comparable circumstances. Where such events materially affect an order, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the client and determine an appropriate course of action.

Changes to These Terms: We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our business, website, services, policies or applicable requirements. The version published on our website will constitute the current Terms of Service. Changes will not retrospectively remove statutory rights or alter obligations already accrued under a completed transaction where doing so would be unlawful. If any provision is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

Governing Law: These Terms of Service and transactions with Parvai are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdiction provided under applicable law.
