True to the bygone era's grandeur, Project Ahilya is a set of pure cotton 80s Maheshwari saris with a silk border ornamented with 3G gold zari motifs. The saris are woven on traditional jala looms by a few elderly & experienced weavers of Maheshwar who used to weave pure cotton a long time ago as they remember. 3G gold zari we use for our Kanchipuram silks has been used on these saris. This gives the woven borders and pallu a great fall, texture, and brilliance.

Product

This royal bluish-purple sari is a show-stopper with the glistening gold against the silken purple brders. It exudes a world charm with its light structure and dense borders

Dimensions:

  • Length - 6.2 meters
  • Width - 1.27 meters,

Garment care:  We recommend gently hand-washing these sarees in cool water with mild detergent. Searching the sari lightly is also recommended. Shade dry these sarees & avoid drying under direct sunlight.

Weaving Process:

  • Woven in: Parvai loom, Maheshwar
  • Woven with: Pure Cotton sari body and Mulberry Silk border, Warp - 2/120 count cotton,  Weft -80s cotton. The borders are woven using 2-ply mulberry silk with 3G Kanchipuram gold zari.
  • Technique:  Handwoven on a traditional floor loom
  • Pre-loom preparation time:  16 days
  • Weaving process: 10 days

Note: This product is handwoven and handblocked, so slight irregularities might exist. Imperfections and variations in the product cannot be termed defects, as these are intrinsic to the handmade process. The product colours may vary due to the light sources or monitor setting.
