Product
"The beauty of a Kanchipuram not just lies in its colours, motifs and the korvais & petnis. The technical construction of the saree, usage of the right thickness of silk that gives it the inimitable fall, is our primary focus. Our sarees are luxuriously wide & come with a 1-meter blouse piece.
Our single & double-ply sarees are woven for high sheen. Do not mistake them for the lighter silks from other clusters for their construction gives them the luxurious drape and yet their lighter weight ensures these sarees can be worn more often."
This bright and beautiful mulberry silk sari in a delightful shade of light yellow shot with bright beige. The borders adorned with intricate floral and leaf motifs inspired by the magnificence and opulence of Mughal art and architecture along with a motif line of drops, woven in silver zari and dull orange, add a distinct class and elegance to this drape. The striking pallu features three bands of temple reku woven in silver zari encased between two similar bands in orange on either side. The sari comes with an orange blouse with thin silver zari lines, adding an irresistible appeal and grace.

This allows us to control the quality of our sarees from design to finish. Our wish is for every Parvai Kanchipuram to help restore the dignity & pride of the highly skilled weavers of this area and in the process lead to better understanding & appreciation of the weave.

People
"Do you ever wonder who made your clothes? If you don't do it yet, it is about time you did. Often, hand-made products are made at the cost of slave labour and inhuman working conditions.
At Parvai, we ensure our process do not directly or indirectly support such practices, pay artisans their due & take pride in ensuring the saree we do not come at the cost of someone else's misery. Each saree is hence truly a labour of love. Our Kanchipuram silks are woven at our looms fully supervised by Parvai's team from design to finish."
- Dyers: Thaygarajan and his team of 2 dyers
- Preloom Preparations: nearly 6 people are involved in warping, sizing, looms setting and so on.
- Petni: Shanthi and Lakshmi
- Designed by: Ane Thomas
- Woven by: Mr Manicayam
Perspective
To us, Kanchipuram sarees are much more than motifs and colour combinations. Parvai's Kanchipuram sarees are cleverly constructed to ensure the wearer is not weighed down by the saree but actually feels like a royal. That is why, our sarees focus heavily on texture, structure & construction. Our lighter plies have been designed with the objective of achieving a high gloss finish and an easy drape while maintaining the grace of a Kanchipuram silk. Our humble attempt is to open your mind to the value of silk, the beauty of constructing a comfortably luxurious heavier ply and appreciate the technical nuances of a highly evolved art form.
