It is one of the cities in the state that is known for its textile printing, block printing, zari weaving and zardozi embroidery. Renowned for its intricate and vibrant prints, Farrukhabad boasts of a long-standing tradition of block printing, a craft that flourished under the patronage of Muhammad Khan. One of the most famous and oldest industries of the city, the Farrukhabad prints are normally found on silk and cotton fabrics. These block prints received the Geographical Index tag from the government of India in 2013.
