Parvai Kanchipuram Korvai Silk Sari : Kalika
This elegant Kanchipuram korvai silk sari celebrates the enduring beauty of traditional weaving through a striking Ganga Jamuna combination of pearl white, red, and black. Handwoven in pure mulberry silk with a luxurious 2-ply warp, 4-ply weft, and 3G zari, the sari is inspired by the timeless aesthetic of classic Kanchipuram textiles. The pearl white body is beautifully framed by contrasting red and black korvai borders enriched with exclusive retapettai design lines, intricate Kamalam motifs, and delicate bud motifs that lend depth and character to the weave. The rich red pallu is thoughtfully composed with meticulously woven border bands that frame rows of Kamalam motifs, creating a harmonious and regal finish. Accompanied by a coordinating red blouse featuring black retapettai borders and woven Kamalam motifs throughout, the sari offers both visual grandeur and remarkable versatility. Woven on a traditional three-shuttle loom by a husband-and-wife weaving team who have dedicated their lives to preserving old-school weaving traditions, this piece carries a story of continuity, memory, and craftsmanship. Requiring over 280 person-hours to complete, Kalika is breathable, hypoallergenic, soft on the skin, easy to drape, and designed to retain its beauty for generations. Available as a single piece only, it reflects Parvai’s commitment to ethical production, dignified artisan livelihoods, environmental responsibility, complete traceability, and the preservation of one of India’s most sophisticated textile traditions.

Care & Product Notes
A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
