Parvai Kanchipuram Korvai Silk Sari : Kalika

Sale priceRs. 65,000.00

This classic Kanchipuram korvai silk sari celebrates a colour combination that has captivated generations of sari lovers, an elegant grey body contrasted by vibrant bright pink borders and pallu. Handwoven in pure mulberry silk with pure zari, a luxurious 2-ply warp, and 4-ply weft, the sari embodies the timeless beauty and technical sophistication of traditional Kanchipuram weaving. The striking korvai borders are adorned with exclusive retta petta design lines featuring intricate kamalam and bud motifs, creating a rhythmic interplay of colour, texture, and detail. The rich pink pallu is framed by meticulously woven border bands that encase rows of kamalam motifs, lending a sense of grandeur and refinement to the drape. Complementing the sari is a bright pink blouse featuring retta petta borders and kamalam motifs woven throughout its body. Woven on a traditional three-shuttle loom by a husband-and-wife weaving team who continue to preserve the weaving traditions they have practised for decades, this piece carries a deep sense of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and continuity. Requiring over 200 person-hours to complete, Kalika is breathable, hypoallergenic, exceptionally comfortable, and easy to drape while offering the durability and beauty of an heirloom textile. Available as a single piece only, it reflects Parvai’s commitment to ethical production, dignified artisan livelihoods, environmental responsibility, complete traceability, and the preservation of one of India’s most treasured weaving traditions.

Care & Product Notes

A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
