Parvai Kanchipuram Korvai Silk Sari : Kalika
This spectacular Kanchipuram korvai silk sari showcases one of the most enduring and dramatic colour combinations in the world of handwoven textiles, a sophisticated grey body contrasted by vibrant red borders and pallu. Handwoven in pure mulberry silk with a luxurious 2-ply warp, 4-ply weft, and 3G zari, the sari embodies the timeless elegance and old-world charm that define Kalika. The striking korvai borders are enriched with exclusive retta petta design lines featuring intricate kamalam and bud motifs, creating a beautiful interplay of structure, detail, and tradition. The rich red pallu is thoughtfully composed with meticulously woven border bands that encase rows of kamalam motifs, lending a sense of grandeur and refinement to the drape. Accompanying the sari is a coordinating red blouse featuring retta petta borders and kamalam motifs woven throughout its body. Woven on a traditional three-shuttle loom by a husband-and-wife weaving team who continue to preserve the weaving traditions they have practised together for decades, this piece carries a profound sense of continuity, memory, and craftsmanship. Requiring over 200 person-hours to complete, Kalika offers luxurious comfort, breathability, and an effortless drape while retaining the durability and beauty expected of an heirloom textile. Available as a single piece only, it reflects Parvai’s commitment to ethical production, dignified artisan livelihoods, environmental responsibility, complete traceability, and the preservation of one of India’s most sophisticated weaving traditions.

Care & Product Notes
A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
