Parvai Kanchipuram Silk Sari : Shringa

Sale priceRs. 55,000.00

Shringa | Handwoven Kancheepuram Silk Sari

Shringa is a Parvai original that explores the classic tall border format in a traditional Kancheepuram silk sari. The brillaint blue body features black stripes, large checks outlined in fine zari, interspersed with stylised Reku motifs individually woven using the Adai technique. Broad maroon contrast borders carry a finer checked pattern, framed on either side by traditional Reku detailing. The pallu is distinguished by a prominent central zari band, bringing together the contrasting colours and geometric elements of the design.

Woven in pure Karnataka mulberry silk using 2ply and 4ply, Shringa features contrast borders created through separately coloured body and border warps. The individually woven motifs introduce an additional level of intricacy to its construction. The sari measures 5.5 meters length and 50 inch width , weighs approximately 790 grams and includes 1 Meter continuation blouse.

Shringa has a strong, architectural presence, with its broad borders giving definition to the silhouette and the checked body creating a measured visual rhythm. The silk's weight and texture lends substance to the pleats, allowing them to fall in structured folds. The contrasting maroon pallu brings depth and movement to the drape, while its central zari band creates a distinct visual accent over the shoulder. A sari particularly suited to occasions where traditional colour contrasts and woven detail can be appreciated.

Designed by Ane Thomas and woven by Mariyappan and Kamala in Kancheepuram, Shringa involves approximately 28 days of pre-loom preparation and 29 days of weaving.

Care & Product Notes

A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
