Parvai Pure Silk Sari: Saduram
Saduram | Handwoven Pure Silk Sari
Saduram brings together luminous purple majenta and deep black in a striking geometric composition. The checked body features floral medallions enclosed within square frames, woven in gold zari with a small green accent at the centre of each motif. Their measured placement creates a distinct visual rhythm, balancing traditional floral ornamentation with the precision of geometric design.
Handwoven in pure Karnataka mulberry silk with a two-ply warp and five-ply weft, Saduram features 2G gold zari and individually woven jacquard motifs on a traditional pit loom. The silk has a substantial, structured character, allowing the pleats to hold their form while falling in generous, well-defined folds. The interplay of blue and black becomes particularly expressive in the drape, with the zari catching light subtly as the fabric moves. Its firm yet fluid fall makes Saduram especially suited to those who appreciate a sari with a strong silhouette and an assured presence.
Each sari takes approximately 23 days to weave, with close to seven hours of work at the loom each day. It is woven independently by a senior Kancheepuram weaver with decades of experience, including many years within the cooperative system. Although he now works outside the traditional weaving cluster, his practice carries forward the technical knowledge and weaving traditions developed over a lifetime.

Care & Product Notes
A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
