Parvai Real Zari Silk Sari
This Kancheepuram Sari is woven in pure mulberry silk (2ply 4 Ply ) and 5G Tamil Nadu Zari using the traditional three-shuttle technique, in a classic contrast of Bright Pink( mittai pink ) and Deep mauve( kottapaku))The lower border measures 6.25 inches, including a 5-inch zari band, while the upper border measures 3.35 inches, with a 1.75-inch zari band. The body is organised into 2-inch square checks, formed through fine veldhari and muthu-line detailing. Within these checks are alternating stylised paisley motifs and chakra or sun motifs, creating a strong, measured rhythm across the field. The border is built as a rich traditional zari pettu, with repeated kattu-style geometric compartments. The sari is completed with a traditional petni pallu, opening into a dense floral brocade in zari. Its total weight is approximately 780 grams, of which 330 grams is zari and 450 grams is silk, meaning zari forms roughly 42% of the sari’s total weight. This substantial use of zari, together with the pure silk, three-shuttle construction and petni pallu, gives the sari its distinctive weight, structure and richness.
This sari is part of Parvai’s commissioned recreation practice, developed with a patron family to revisit and reconstruct an older sari from their own collection while retaining its original design language, proportions and technical character.

Care & Product Notes
A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.
Colour
Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
