Parvai Block Printed Organza Silk Sari : Vasanthi
An exceptional pure silk organza sari bringing together the fine weaving of Banaras and the generational knowledge of hand block printing in Bagru. Handwoven by Mr Taleem in Bajardiha using fine 3-ply, 20–22 denier filiature mulberry silk, the sari is light, translucent and beautifully structured, with tiny 2 cm extra-weft motifs placed precisely across the pallu.
Approximately ten days of pre-loom preparation and eighteen days of weaving precede its journey to Bagru, where experienced traditional printers develop the colours, select the blocks and carefully plan their placement around the woven motifs. Printing on such a fine handwoven textile requires exceptional control, with the intention always to complement the weave rather than cover it.
For Parvai, the quality of the canvas must equal the quality of the craft placed upon it. Rather than printing on an available fabric, we develop exceptional handwoven textiles specifically for our print projects and then entrust them to highly skilled printers. It is slower, more demanding and carries greater risk, but it allows weaving and printing to stand at the same level of quality.
The sari measures 5.5 metres with an additional 1 metre blouse fabric, is approximately 45 inches wide and weighs around 400 grams.

A few things we would like you to know
Care
Air your Parvai sari after wear and store it in a clean cotton or muslin cover, away from direct sunlight, moisture and plastic. Refold it from time to time so that the same creases do not remain under stress, especially along zari-rich borders and pallus. Heavier saris are best stored folded or gently rolled rather than hung for long periods. Clean only when necessary, preferably through a trusted specialist familiar with fine silk and handwoven textiles.
Handwoven Character
Every Parvai textile is handmade and may carry slight variations in weave, texture, colour, motif placement, finish or dimensions. These are natural to the making process and are part of the textile’s character, not defects. Measurements and weights are approximate.

Colours may appear differently across devices due to variations in screen brightness, resolution, colour settings and lighting. If you would like a closer colour reference or any clarification before purchase, please contact us.
